All smiles! :D

So it’s your regular Sunday afternoon and I was back from the Sunday class.
It had been quite an inactive week.
The usual: Less talking, more sleeping, feeling guilty for not talking and sleeping more.
Today’s day was particularly sad
L Amidst the less niceness and more rudeness I faced today, the only thing I started craving for after unlocking my door, slamming it behind me after coming back was: to see a beautiful smile.
And the search began.

Smile! I need to see someone smile!
Where can I find a beautiful smile?
DAMN! All the doors in my corridor are locked!
Let me explore foreign territory (Other floors) ..
“Hey! How are.. ”
“Oh Hi! I’m glad you came! You know this thing happened yesterday and it led to this thing today and then….”

“Yaar I’m bored”
“Hello Tikkis! What’s up”
I got very interesting discussions on topics from GATE to interviews to GRE to things happening within the campus (final semester, what can you say!). But didn’t get any smile. I guess my timing was wrong.
L
So with heavy head hanging down, I came back and lay down and tried to remember all the smiles I had ever seen. Fortunately I recalled few smiles that I liked to remember. I could count them on my fingers. A true, genuine smile has more healing power than we think. We'll see what it does to you in some time.
When life gifts me days filled with abject misery or I’m feeling hopeless or downtrodden, I don’t require a consoling discussion dripping with pragmatism and logic right away. Being a petulant person, I can guarantee you my mind would wander on its own journey after some three minutes. If you dare continue, I might ruin your day as well!
What I’m trying to say is that the mind is not receptive for logic just for the moment. So however correct the other person might be, their efforts are futile. I would be able to properly understand and work upon the suggestions given to me once I get composed and the mind is placated.
And for that, we don’t need to bother with any lengthy procedures, when just a simple genuine smile would do! I am amenable to that extent that a nakli wala ‘It’s going to be all right’ is an added bonus!
J
Coming back to the main point! I would like to describe the most beautiful smile like Joey describes the best sandwich which he could take a bullet for, in F.R.I.E.N.D.S

So imagine a day when you are at your lowest. One of those days that come once maybe in two months. You have had a rough day, none of your jobs have been done properly and in the evening you are there sitting like a fat lump (or in cases like me, a twig! :P ), sulking, brooding, annoyed by everything coming in your way.
May be your day started off badly and by the time of the sunset, you are infuriated! The mind is occupied and an ugly frown adorns your face. You take quick steps, you are stomping your way till the home and you're determined to rant it out on the next person you see.
You press the doorbell three times quickly. No one responds for 10 seconds. You do it a couple of times more.
THE DOOR OPENS

And before you say something, the face of the person lights up on seeing you back home. And the smile is so beautiful that it goes right through you. It somehow seizes the permission to remain angry anymore. It makes your insides tingle. And flowers start blossoming inside you like they showed in the advertisement of Strepsils. The volcano, which was on the verge of bursting now quickly becomes dormant. Your breathing slows down, the mercury dips, and as you enter your home, you forget 80% of the reason of your earlier state of vexation and the rest 20% becomes insignificant as the monster deflates slowly. All the irritation, anger was self-created. Why was I angry, again? It's not required anymore. You have found better things to do now!
All the endorphins have been released, the bad mood is gone. At least two hours of being grumpy are saved, you lips are stretched and the eyes are sparkling.
This kind of thing that I was craving for today.

Isn't it amazing that eyes can convey better and a simple genuine smile can heal quicker and better than hackneyed statements!

The simple joys in life are so inexpensive and therefore should be abundantly scattered yet somehow I found so much difficulty in finding one today.

Anyway the grumpiness ended today when they announced, "A monkey has come inside the hostel. Please get inside the rooms" and the mood flipped instantly.
Blahaha! What is the poor guy doing here?!

So we now come to the end of what I had in mind.
I'm not very sure if I conveyed what I had in mind properly so that you construe it in the way I intended to, but  I'll be sad if this long blog post didn't make you smile even once.
So, here are twins who are happy for the fact that this long post is over now! :D
Tada!

Things we can learn from a baby :D

This is a human baby.

It normally makes incomprehensible sounds and leaks a lot.
However, it is an encyclopedia of happiness which we can look into when we feel low.
So here's a list  of all the good things we can learn from babies:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  • Everything I like is my birth right and I shall have it:
Oh they like what they see.
They like it a lot. Isn’t it absolutely fabulous?
If they want something, they will make the skies burst until it is given to them.

  • Hop, drop, and get right back up:
In the process of learning to walk, a child bumps into nearly everything and falls down. Every time he does so, there is a bigger smile and sweeter laughter on its face than the previous fall. But does he stop trying? NO! he gets right back up and enjoys it.

  • The world is mine to be explored:

A child sees the world with such curious eyes. Always amazed by anything in the mighty world he sees. When the child starts crawling, dare you stop him from going anywhere within the range of its sight. Take him up, put him in bed, you will be shown how unstoppable the little monster is.
-"Wow .. this looks like an interesting coin … let me put this in my mouth and try to eat it because that’s what I am supposed to do."
-"Whoa… the big adults call it ‘fire’. Let me know more about it by putting my hand inside it. OUCH!"
-"Ooooh. That’s a wire… What does it do? Maybe I would know if I just go over there and eat it. Yikes. Mommy is not letting me go there. I definitely should."
-"Hey! That’s a pretty dress my mother absolutely loves. I’m sure it will look much better if I draw clouds on it with her new lipstick.. Masterpiece. :D"
-"My sister has the loveliest long hair. You know what will be fun? Holding her hair and hanging through it. Whee!! "

  • Leave me and my G.I Joe alone
You might be a very important person to him. But when he's doing something he wants to, the thing is the recipient of all his attention. He is completely indulged in whatever he does.
He lives completely in the present. Me and my toy. Nothing else matters... till I get bored of it and want something new! ;D

  • I don't need a reason to be happy
Babies are so nice. They are a bucket full of joy but their smile is not very expensive. For them, happiness is in everything: the bath temperature being just right, their mommy making weird faces to make them laugh, munching on a very sweet fruit, watching crows caw :P
They don't need a big reason to be happy.

  • I just live without fears
He's so happy because he's living his life and he doesn't think about it.
You must have seen a sleeping baby. He sleeps WITHOUT a single stray thought. Just before sleeping. a baby has no worries, no thoughts. Unlike adults, who in most cases are thinking of a deadline to meet, a target to reach and so on. The little ones have the BEST sleep, with an empty mind. Far from the complexities and perplexities of life (which in some cases are entirely self made)

  •  Results don't matter to me
He doesn't pay much attention to the result of the things he does, whatever comes to his mind, he just indulges into it with all his energy. Nor does he ever think much about the chances of failure, about the shame the failure might bring, or about being perfect in that act.
Does success shoot up his mind ??
Does failure bring any disheartening to him??
No!
He just loves doing and experimenting things, irrespective of the futuristic outcome it will bring, that's why you could feel a real joy always on every child face in whatever things they do ! Adults work the day on a comfortable chair under ac and they easily feel tired after few hours... But a child plays throughout the days, do a gazillion things...but still he is always seen energetic... Isn't it strange?

  • I love unconditionally, I have no preconceptions
You are as good to him as the other guy is, who is as good as the other girl is. He loves everyone equally, whatever be you religion or community (as long as you keep feeding him with candies)
They know the universal language of love. Love all equally. :)
If a child likes you, he loves you completely.  His unconditional smile brings love and smile to everyone around him.... He has no clue about what "ego" is. Children are pure.. That's why they are called "little Gods"

If he trusts someone, he trusts with full faith.
Every time someone lifts him up in the air he is sure that he will catch him the very next moment.
Everyday, he goes to school he has full faith that he will be taken back to his home even though he may have no idea where he actually lives. His complete faith in individuals brings great sense of responsibility among most of the person connected with him. Doesn't it seeme magical ??

  • I have a very short memory, I forget and forgive easily

A child is so nice compared to the less nice real world around him. Adults (mother/father/relatives) being tense and stressed because of the different diverse daily challenges they face, sometimes behave irritably, and are harsh or rude to their children.
A child is too innocent to do something intentionally wrong but still they are misbehaved sometimes. Adults generally regret and feel bad about their mistake once they are okay...
But the child has been blessed with a natural short memory to easily forget and forgive people around it, the very next moment adults do something nice to them (bring some chocolates) and the child  gives the relationship a second chance.... Isn't it beautiful ??

  • I express myself freely, Truth is my only Language

A child can be seen as a huge treasure of all emotions. Whatever he feels is completely shown on his face. Can you stop a child from crying or laughing or loving someone, if he wants to? If something makes them feel better, they just express it and felt better afterwards. They don't suppress their feelings like we adults sometimes do and lose some of our precious people only being unable to express how we actually feel... Isn't it a foolish loss ??

  • I love to share!
A child doesn't have any understanding for personal belongingness of things, They identify things usually in 3rd person : Dana's dress, Dana's food. They don't say my dress, my doll until they are taught to do so. Before that happens, he gives and he shares from the heart.

He usually considers more about people's happiness than materialistic attachments... When he gives freely, he gains even more. Already knowing from our childhood that happiness is in caring, still we generally hesitate to share... Isn't it ironic ??

  • I am always imaginative and dream big, impossible doesn't exist for me
Limitations,
boundaries,
unbelievable,
impossibilities:
These words don't have any occupancy in the dictionary of a child. Look at a child! He is always planning and ready for a new adventure, sometimes he succeeds in his adventure, sometimes he fails, but he continues dreaming, full of positivism
We all have dreamed of big things for us when we use to be little. But dealing with the challenges of life,  we feel loss of hope and stop believing in our dreams.
So, go out looking for a child and ask him what he wants to be when he grows up, reminding you of your childhood saying to you "Don't limit yourself. you can go as far as your mind lets you. Remember: What you believe is what you can achieve.  Aren't you feeling more hopeful ??

Pluviophiles

"A massive dust storm hit the Delhi NCR region around 5 pm. The dust storm accompanied by dark clouds was so severe that it blocked out the sun almost completely and brought visibility down to zero, and brought with it much needed rainfall to the region which had been sweltering under the oppressive heat for the last five days"

Shattered glass.
Wet people.
Crazy wind.
Sliding over the water.
Shivering in the end of May!
Well, since my first year at college has been so adventurous and unordinary, there was no question of it ending in an ordinary way.
I am talking about this day, which is 2 days before my end semester exam! (Actually 3 for me) when we were all, peacefully trying to study in the library.
Note again- ‘trying’ to. :P

The fun started at 4:45 when it got stormy, and dark like night. We went out, just because.  Actually we were curious.  It had been a  sunny, hot, terrible day by the way!
In a jiffy, my friend pulled me in the rain, and I wondered how amazing it is that I had my slippery slippers today. I was slipping after each step. It was all dark. Nothing to be seen clearly, and had I slipped there, I would have stopped only near the administrative block. Also I realized that we had somewhere lost Joshi in the storm. :O
So, we happy pluviophiles, hand in hand marched bravely ahead, reveling in every raindrop.
I can see the look on your face Sinha, “People get wet in the rain. So? What’s so great about that?” But you should have been there. Water pouring, hail, thundering, lightening, wind blowing at 60,000 miles/hour (You can remove few zeros if you feel like it!) And we were shivering when, few hours earlier we were dying in the heat. How amazing it felt in all. It was beautiful! The best part was that, for a few minutes, we had forgotten all our worries.
During such a dangerous end of the semester time, it felt so good to see happy faces again. (Actually it was dark, but I have proof the faces were happy) :P

The only person unhappy was a guy from my class, who doesn’t like it when it rains.

We came back, dripping from head to toe, slipping at each step, people smirking, staring at us.
And we found Joshi again. Yayy. She told me stories about the time when she went to Shillong. That’s when she said something very beautiful about beautiful moments. It’s moments like these, when we are truly happy from inside, when we don’t care to bother for a moment, which we cherish the most in life. She wanted to rewind these few moments again. So did I. So did everyone else, except that guy, of course, who was still standing far away, watching us, and looking disgusted!
And slowly as the rain ceased, it started getting brighter. And NIFTEM never looked more beautiful! :')
Except the tabaahi part, of course, which we saw once we came back to the hostel.

The only bad thing that happened was all Adhithiyan’s fault, because his cellphone doesn't have camera.
You’re going to get punished for this soon, Aadi! Pretty soon :D
So, what was your happy, all of a sudden event, which made you forget your troubles for some time?

Hope- Part 2

Hello and welcome again to The Blog Without a Name!
Before you start reading, if you haven't read Hope- Part 1 , I want to tell you that this post is nothing related to hope in any way.
A week ago, I had written something. And as I see it, some people are waiting to read its next part!
So, without any suspense, in clear and simple words, my work was successful.
(I told you I would be jumping up and down with happiness, but I'm not, because I don't feel like it right now. It's too hot here and I want to go back to Shimla again)
It took a lot of hard work, but then I was very happy when I finally made it :')
Finally, now that this journey ends, I would like to thank the following people

  • Apoorva Joshi, Anurag and Anshul, for their constant moral support.
  • My brother, for not laughing at me when I told him about all the tabaahi I did at Shimla
  • My Dadima and Amma♥ for super nice food when I stayed.
  • Anaahita, for not killing me when I threw her Doraemon out of the window (accidentally, of course!)
  • That ma'am, for rejecting my application twice, otherwise, things would have never happened on time!
  • The little help which some amazing strangers kept giving, unknowingly.
  • And most of all, Papa for countless things, and Amma as well. ♥

Well, the last week was amazing.
Actually since January, after the start of my second semester, I have been getting goody, nicey, surprises every now and then!
And due to this reason, I have changed my alarm tone to Zindagi ek safar hai suhaana (Life is a beautiful journey). And I have started enjoying these little surprises that come along the way. It keeps my day going :D
But at the moment, I'm  in a pretty not so goody-nicey mood. Yes. I have exams in two weeks. (Not that I ever start studying until that very day)

I have a lot of good stories to share, but not now. More when I get some time.
It's time to save the semester.
(But before that, I have an oil painting competition at my college, and since the great artist in me has now woken up, I am going to take part in that)
Q: So, what did we learn today?
A: That I finally changed my alarm tone now. And I get very happy when it plays in the morning! :')
Bye! :D
